Edward M. Capullo, the son of Martin and Helen Capullo, was born on March 27, 1918, in Schenectady New York. He was a student at Mont Pleasant High School.

Edward enlisted in the United States Army and held the rank of Staff Sergeant. He served with the 62nd Coast Artillery before taking part in World War ll. Edward was a champion boxer at the time. In 1936, he held the title of middle weight champion for the Fort Totten Post, and in 1938, he was named the Army and Navy's middle weight champion. In addition, Edward received merits in baseball, basketball, and football. He deployed in June 1943 and saw action in England, France and Germany while serving with the 11th Infantry Regiment, 5th Infantry Division. On March 3, 1945, Edward lost his life in battle while fighting in the European theatre. He is buried in the Lorriane American Cemetery and Memorial, France.
