Edward Richard Druzba, the son of Peregrin and Julia (Kalivoda) Druzba, was born on June 15, 1913, in Pocatello, Idaho. He relocated to Schenectady as a young boy. Prior to joining the military, he worked for the Murphy power plant and General Electric Company. He attended Mont Pleasant High School.

In January, 1942, Edward enlisted in the United States Army. At Camp Dix in Georgia, Fort Jackson in Alabama, and Fort Benning in Georgia, he underwent his training. Edward held the rank of Corporal and served with the 8th Infantry Regiment, 4th Infantry Division. Early in 1944, he left for overseas. On August 7, 1944, Edward died during combat in France. He is buried in the Evergreen Memorial Park, Colonie, New York.
