World War II (1939-1945)

Edward Snyder was born in Nelliston, New York, on June 7, 1915. After 1940, he was living in the city of Schenectady and working for General Electric. 

On October 11, 1943, Edward enlisted in the United States Army. He was a private first class serving with Company K, 87th Mountain Infantry Regiment, 10th Mountain Infantry Division. On April 15, 1945, Edward was killed in battle during the assault on Mount Croce in Italy. It was one of the 10th Mountain Division's bloodiest battles. He is buried in the Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery in Colonie, New York.

*Edwards' son was born in Schenectady, New York, on the same day that Edward was killed.
