Edward Stanley Anselowitz, the son of George and Virginia (Gratz) Anselowitz, was born on July 31, 1919, in Monmouth, New Jersey. By 1930, he was living in the Town of Rotterdam, in Schenectady County, New York. He worked for the Gridley Sand and Gravel Company and General Electric before joining the military.

In June 1942, Edward enlisted in the United States Army. He held the rank of Staff Sergeant and served with the 330th Infantry Regiment, 83rd Infantry Division. On August 8, 1944, Edward was killed in battle in France. He is buried in the Brittany American Cemetery and Memorial, France.
