Everett James Wemple, the son of Joseph and Elizabeth (Ogsbury) Wemple, was born on June 19, 1898, in Duanesburg, New York. By 1916, he had relocated with his parents and younger brother to Palmer Avenue in the city of Schenectady. He was a student at Union College, a volunteer in the Student Army Training Corps, and a worker for the Morris Plan Bank.

Everett enlisted in the United States Army on October 4, 1918 and held the rank of Private. On January 20, 1919, he passed away from scarlet fever in Camp Taylor, Kentucky. He is buried in the Park View Cemetery, Schenectady, NY.
