Frank F. Ranucci, the son of Salvatore and Diana Ranucci, was born on July 13, 1920, in Schenectady, New York. He went to Yates Elementary, Onieda Junior High, and Nott Terrace High School. Frank was a former Schenectady boxer. 

In February 1940, Frank enlisted in the United States Army Air Corps and began his basic training at Fort Monmouth in New Jersey.  He was a Technical Sergeant assigned to the 2nd Antisubmarine Squadron. Frank was killed on September 4, 1943, while serving as an aerial gunner on a B-24 bomber in the North African Theater. He is buried at St. John the Baptist Cemetery, Schenectady, New York.
