Frederick Forest Kirk, the son of Bennie and Edna (Stafford) Kirk, was born on May 14, 1927, in Frankfort, NY. By 1935, he was living in Schenectady. Frederick attended Lincoln Elementary, Central Park Junior High School, and vocational high school. He was working for Maqua's Company bindery.
On May 15, 1944, Frederick enlisted in the United States Navy. He held the rank of Seaman Second Class and was stationed on the USS Nashville. On December 13, 1944, Frederick was killed in battle in the Philippines' Mindoro Strait. He is buried in the Evergreen Memorial Park, Colonie, New York.
