World War II (1939-1945)

Harold Heckler was born in Clifton Park, New York, on May 4, 1923. By 1930, he and his family were living in the town of Glenville in Schenectady County. Before entering the military, he was a landscaper.

On January 12, 1943, Harold enlisted in the United States Army. He was a private first class serving with the 319th Infantry Regiment, 80th Infantry Division. On February 13, 1945, Harold was killed in battle at a river crossing near Wallendorf, Germany. He is buried in the Henri Chapelle American Cemetery and Memorial in Belgium.
