Herbert Gerald Hoehn, the son of Gustav and Mildred (Wilkie) Hoehn, was born on November 25, 1932, in Schenectady, New York. He was an employee of the Mica Insulator Company and attended Draper High School.

On November 29, 1949, Herbert enlisted in the United States Army. He held the rank of Private and served with Company L, 19th Infantry Regiment, 24th Infantry Division. On September 10, 1950, Herbert was killed during the Battle of Pusan Perimeter. He is buried in the Schenectady Memorial Park, Rotterdam, New York.
