John James Judge was born in Schenectady, New York. His WWI Draft Card indicates a birth date of December 10, 1895, while the Veterans Administration Master Index lists it as November 27, 1895. He grew up in the city of Schenectady, and before entering the military, he worked for the Schenectady Railway Company.
On January 31, 1918, John enlisted in the United States Army. He completed his training at Camp Greene in North Carolina. He was a private serving in Headquarters Company, 7th Infantry Division. On October 5, 1918, John was killed in combat during the Meuse-Argonne Offensive. He is buried in St. Agnes Cemetery in Albany, New York.
