World War II (1939-1945)

John Joseph Kiszkiel was born in Schenectady, New York, on February 25, 1919. He grew up in the city of Schenectady and graduated from Mont Pleasant High School. Before entering the military, he worked for General Electric.

In May 1944, John enlisted in the United States Navy. He completed his training at Sampson Naval Base, on Seneca Lake in New York. On March 19, 1945, John was lost at sea during the Pacific Theater. He is remembered at the Honolulu Memorial, Courts of the Missing in Hawaii and St. Adalbert Cemetery in Rotterdam, New York.

Light Lie The Sea Upon Thee
