World War I (1914-1918)

Joseph Arthur Antkowiak was born in Schenectady, New York, on March 8, 1896. He grew up in the city of Schenectady, and before entering the military, he was working for an automobile company. 

On February 22, 1918, Joseph enlisted in the United States Army. He was a private serving with Company L, 305th Infantry Regiment, 77th Infantry Division. Joseph was killed in action during the Meuse-Argonne Offensive, on October 5, 1918. He is buried in the Meuse-Argonne American Cemetery and Memorial in France.
