Joseph (Giuseppe) Fiore was born in Candela, Italy on September 27, 1888. Candela is a town in the province of Foggia in the southeast Italian region of Apulia. As an adult, Joseph moved to Schenectady and lived on Congress Street.
Joseph enlisted in the United States Army. He was a Private First Class with Company B, 38th Infantry Regiment, 3rd Infantry Division. On July 15, 1918, Joseph was killed in battle in France. He is buried in the Oise-Aisne American Cemetery and Memorial, France.
