Joseph Revelia, the son of Dominick and Angelina (Morello) Revelia, was born on July 26, 1900, in Lucignano, Italy. As a young child, he immigrated to the United States with his parents. Throughout the years between the two wars, Joseph, who had also served in World War l, had worked for the East End Coal Company.

Two years before the attack on Pearl Harbor, Joseph reenlisted in the United States Army. He held the rank of Sergeant and was part of the 31st Infantry Regiment. Joseph was taken prisoner of war while stationed on the Philippine Islands. Joseph passed away from dysentery on June 26, 1942, while he was a prisoner in the Cabanatuan prison camp. He is buried in the Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery, Niskayuna, New York.
