Joseph W. Korowajczyk Jr., the son of Joseph and Pauline Korowajczyk, was born on July 29, 1921, in Glenridge, New York. By 1930, he was residing in the city of Schenectady with his family. Before joining the military,  Joseph attended Vocational High School and worked for the Lattanzio Bros. 

Joseph enlisted in the United States Army on October 23, 1939, and was deployed overseas in March 1942. He held the rank of Technical Sergeant and was part of Company F, 105th Infantry Regiment. Joseph was killed at the Battle of Saipan on July 10, 1944. He is buried in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Schenectady, New York.
