Karl Joseph Muzikar, the son of Frank and Mary (Curran) Muzikar, was born on December 24, 1917, in Schenectady, New York. He graduated from Mont Pleasant High School in 1935 and was a member of the library club.
In January 1936, Karl enlisted in the United States Army. He held the rank of Second Lieutenant and was part of the 31st Infantry Regiment. Karl was reported to have been taken prisoner of war on May 7, 1942. He was at POW camp 4, Luzon, Philippines. He died on June 15, 1942. Karl is buried in the Manila American Cemetery and Memorial, Philippines.
