Kenneth Lyman Collins, the son of Samuel and Flora (Lane) Collins, was born on May 27, 1918, in Charlton, Saratoga County, New York. He was living with his family in Schenectady after 1935. Kenneth was employed by the General Electric Company.
On May 23, 1944, Kenneth enlisted in the United States Army and began his basic training at Fort Dix, in New Jersey. He held the rank of Sergeant and served with the 143rd Infantry Regiment, 36th Infantry Division. On March 18, 1945, Kenneth died from wounds sustained in combat in France. He is buried in the Lorraine American Cemetery and Memorial, France.
