Le Roy Rorick, the son of Peter and Mary (Woodcock) Rorick, was born on September 5, 1892, in Schoharie County, New York. By 1913, he had moved to Schenectady and was employed there.

On May 25, 1918, Le Roy enlisted in the United States Army. He held a rank of Private and served with Company C, 326th Signal Battalion. On August 14, 1918, Le Roy left the country on board the ship Koningin der Nederlanden. On October 28, 1918, he was killed in battle in France. He is buried in the Saint Paul’s Lutheran Cemetery, Schoharie, New York. Le Roy's family requested a government headstone for him, but it was later stolen from his grave, leaving his grave unmarked.
