World War II (1939-1945)

Leslie William Alheim was born in Troy, New York, on April 5, 1912. By 1915, he was living in Schenectady, New York. After attending Nott Terrace High School, Leslie went to work for General Electric. 

On October 6, 1943, Leslie enlisted in the United States Army. He was a private serving with the 135th Infantry Regiment, 34th Infantry Division. Leslie left for the war in April 1944, and on July 5, 1944, he was killed in Italy. He is buried in Oakwood Cemetery, Troy, New York.
