Lorenzo Vincent DiCerbo, the son of Gabriele and Mary (DiCaprio) DiCerbo, was born on May 11, 1924, in Schenectady, New York. He attended Mont Pleasant High School and worked for General Electric after graduating.

In February 1943, Lorenzo enlisted in the United States Army and attended Fort Bragg, North Carolina, for his basic training. He held the rank of Private First Class and served with the 10th Infantry Battalion, 4th Armored Division. On November 14, 1944, Lorenzo was killed in combat in Lorraine, France. He is buried in the Lorraine American Cemetery and Memorial, France.
