Louis A. DiCerbo, the son of Michael and Lucia DiCerbo, was born in 1925 in Schenectady, New York. Louis served as an altar boy at the church of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel. He received his high school diploma from Mont Pleasant.

In January 1943, Louis enlisted in the United States Army Air Corps. He finished his radio and gunnery training in Chicago, Scott Field, Illinois, and Fort Myers, Florida. He was a radio operator with a B-25 Mitchell Bomber Squadron and had the rank of Corporal. On December 4, 1944, Louis was killed in battle over the island of Halmahera in the Dutch East Indies  He is buried in the Barracks National Cemetery, Missouri.
