Peter (Pietro) Della-Rocca was born in Schenectady, New York on May 18, 1894. He graduated from Schenectady High School and attended the University of Syracuse before joining the military.
 

On March 9, 1918, Peter enrolled in the United States Army and was stationed in Charlotte, North Carolina. On May 7, 1918, he was transferred overseas aboard the SS Rhesus. He was a Private in Company E of the 58th Infantry Regiment, 4th Infantry Division. On July 18, 1918, Peter was killed in battle in France. He is buried in the Aisne Marne American Cemetery and Memorial, France.
