Renne Burrell Speanburg, the son of Eugene and Fanny (Burrell) Speanburg, was born on October 26, 1916, in Schenectady, New York.  Renne was born in Schenectady but raised in Schaghticoke, New York before returning to Schenectady in 1940. He went to Schaghticoke High School and was employed by the American Locomotive Company. 

In January 1941, Renne enlisted in the United States Army Air Corps. He was assigned to Morris Field and held the rank of Second Lieutenant. Renne was killed in the crash of a light bomber on a training flight from Morris Field on December 28, 1943; he couldn't land due to dense fog over the field. He is buried in the West Charlton Cemetery, Saratoga County, New York.
