Richard Charles White was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on November 30, 1925. By 1940, he was living in Schenectady with his mother. Before joining the military, he worked at the Brickner Grocery Store on State Street.
On March 15, 1944, Richard enlisted in the United States Army. He was a Private in the 397th Infantry Regiment of the 100th Infantry Division. On December 5, 1944, Richard was killed in combat in France. He is buried in the Lorraine American Cemetery and Memorial, France.
