Robert James Wells Jr., the son of Robert and Estella (Whitney) Wells, was born on August 5, 1949, in Schenectady, New York. He was a graduate of Linton High School.
On December 12, 1967, Robert enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. He held the rank of Private First Class and served with Company A, 1st Battalion, 9th Marine Division. Robert died on April 16, 1968 in the South Vietnamese province of Quang Tri from wounds sustained during the Battle of Khe Sanh. He is buried in Park View Cemetery, Schenectady, New York.
