Vietnam War (1955-1975)

Robert James Wells Jr. was born in Schenectady, New York, on August 5, 1949. He grew up in the city of Schenectady and was a student at Linton High School.

On December 12, 1967, Robert enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. He was a private first class serving with Company A, 1st Battalion, 9th Marine Division. On April 16, 1968, in the South Vietnamese province of Quang Tri, Richard was killed by a hostile explosive device during the Battle of Khe Sanh. He is buried in Park View Cemetery in Schenectady, New York.
