Robert Joseph Young, the son of Cornelius and Eva (Guyette) Young, was born on May 22, 1919, in Schenectady, New York. On December 8, 1942, Robert enlisted in the United States Army. He held the rank of Private First Class and served with Company G, 157th Infantry Regiment. In June 1943, Robert was deployed overseas. On May 28, 1944, Robert was killed in action in Italy. He is buried in the Union Cemetery, Washington County, New York.
