Vietnam War (1955-1975)

Robert Michael Stec was born in Schenectady, New York, on March 16, 1946. He grew up in the City of Schenectady and graduated from Bishop Gibbons High School in 1964. He went to Hudson Valley Community College in Albany County, New York, following his high school graduation.

In August 1966, Robert enlisted in the United States Army. He was a specialist 5 serving with Company D, 402nd Unit, 5th Special Forces Group, Medical Division. On January 3, 1969, while engaged in combat operations, Robert was killed in action when his unit came under attack. He is buried in St. Adalbert Cemetery in Rotterdam, New York.
