World War II (1939-1945)

Robert William Geier Jr. was born in Schenectady, New York, on October 15, 1925. During the 1930 census, he was living in the town of Rotterdam in Schenectady County, and by the 1940 census, he was living in the city of Schenectady. He was a student at St. Columba's School and was an employee of the Pleasant Valley Packing Company. 

On December 11, 1943, Robert enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. He completed his basic training at Parris Island in South Carolina. He was a private first class serving with Company I, 3rd Battalion, 1st Marines, 1st Marine Division. On September 17, 1944, Robert was killed during the Battle of Peleliu. He is buried in the Evergreen Memorial Park in Colonie, New York.
