Ronald Miller Fero, the son of Glen and Halcyon Fero, was born on July 23, 1933, in Baldwinsville, New York. After graduating from Scotia Glenville High School, he served eight years in the United States Air Force before joining the United States Army. Ronald worked for the Buhrmaster Company while he was a member of the Scotia National Guard Unit.
In 1963, Ronald enlisted in the United States Army. He held the rank of Warrant Officer and served with the 220th Aviation Company, 14th Aviation Battalion, 17th Aviation Group, 1st Aviation Brigade. Ronald was killed in a midair collision when the O-1A Bird Dog he was on was struck by a Royal Vietnamese Air Force Douglas Skyraider on December 20, 1965. He is buried in Park Cemetery, Scotia, New York.
