Stanislaw "Stash" Joseph Ausfeld, the son of Jan and Rozalia (Squiot) Ausfeld, was born on August 31, 1904, in Schenectady, New York. Stanislaw began his military career in 1930, when he joined the regular army as a member of Company A, First Engineers, from 1930 to 1933. He reenlisted in 1933 for the Quartermaster Corps until 1936. Then for duty detachment USMA Westpoint until 1939. 

Stanislaw reenlisted in the Fifth Field Artillery in 1939 and was assigned to Madison Barracks in Sackets Harbor, New York. He was a  Sergeant at the time. Stanislaw died from pneumonia while serving at Madison Barracks on November 28, 1942. He is buried in St. Adalbert Cemetery, Rotterdam, New York.
