World War II (1939-1945)

Stanley Edward Walkowiak was born in Schenectady, New York, on February 26, 1918. He grew up in the city of Schenectady, and before joining the military, he worked for General Electric.

On October 16, 1940, Stanley enlisted in the United States Army. He was a private serving with the 137th Infantry Regiment, 35th Infantry Division. On July 11, 1944, Stanley died as a result of wounds sustained during combat in France. He is buried in the Normandy American Cemetery and Memorial in France.
