Victor Stasinkiewicz, the son of Anthony and Sophie (Niesen) Stasinkiewicz, was born on June 15, 1919, in Schenectady, New York. He attended Washington Irving Intermediate School, and the newspaper noted that he had perfect attendance in 1935 as well as receiving a merit badge for attendance.
On March 25, 1941, Victor enlisted in the United States Army. He held a rank of Sergeant and served with Company B, 36th Engineering Battalion. Victor served with the combat engineers for 18 months and saw action in the African and Sicilian campaigns. On March 2, 1944, Victor was killed in action in Italy. He is buried in St. Mary's Cemetery, Schenectady, New York.
