Vincent James Musco was born in Schenectady, New York, on April 28, 1947. He grew up in the city of Schenectady and graduated from Linton High School in 1966 and afterwards attended Fulton-Montgomery Community College in Johnstown, New York. Before entering the military, he was working for General Electric.
In November 1967, Vincent enlisted in the United States Army. After completing basic training at Fort Dix in New Jersey, he attended military police school at Fort Gordon in Georgia. He was a sergeant serving with the 23rd MP Company, 11th Light Infantry Brigade, Americal Division. On August 18, 1969, Vincent's jeep struck a mine, and he was killed; he had only seven days left before his tour of duty in Vietnam was finished. He is buried in St. Anthony Cemetery in Glenville, New York.
