World War II (1939-1945)

Wadsworth Caesar Trojakowski was born in Schenectady, New York, on October 14, 1898. He grew up in the city of Schenectady and graduated from Schenectady High School in 1917. 

Wadsworth enlisted in the United States Navy in 1917, and after World War I ended, he departed the Navy to obtain a dental degree from the University of Maryland. He re-enlisted in the Navy after becoming a dentist. On May 8, 1942, during the Battle of the Coral Sea, Wadsworth was aboard the USS Lexington when it was hit by torpedoes, and he was lost at sea. He is remembered at Arlington National Cemetery in Virginia. 

*Lexington's wreck was discovered in the Coral Sea off Australia's northeastern coast in March 2018.
