World War II (1939-1945)

Walter John Abramski was born in Jersey City, New Jersey, on December 14, 1917. Following his marriage, he moved to Schenectady, New York, where his wife was born and raised. Walter was a carpenter's apprentice.

In July 1941, Walter enlisted in the United States Army. He completed his basic training at Fort Bragg, North Carolina, before being transferred overseas in November 1942. Walter was a sergeant serving with the 58th Armored Field Artillery Battalion. On December 19, 1944, Walter was killed during the Battle of the Bulge. He is buried in the Ardennes American Cemetery and Memorial, Belgium.
