Walter John Lipinski, the son of Stephan and Bernice Lipinski, was born on May 12, 1917, in Schenectady, New York. He worked for Pleasant Valley Dairy before entering the service.
On March 12, 1942, Walter enlisted in the United States Army. He underwent his basic training at Camp Upton in New York. He held the rank of Staff Sergeant and served with the 109th Infantry Regiment, 28th Infantry Division. On September 15, 1944, Walter was killed in battle. He is buried in the Henri Chapelle American Cemetery and Memorial, Belgium.
