William C. Bruenig was born on December 12, 1920, in Wyoming. He attended United States Army Air Corps school in Hempstead, New York, in 1940 after graduating from Draper High School.
On December 23, 1941, William was killed in a plane crash in Denton, Texas, while he was piloting a training aircraft for the Brayton Flying Service School.
