World War II (1939-1945)

William Charles Breunig was born in Cheyenne, Wyoming, on December 12, 1920. It is unknown when William and his family settled in Schenectady, New York. After graduating from Draper High School, he attended the United States Army Air Corps Academy in Hempstead, New York.

On December 23, 1941, William was killed in a plane crash in Denton, Texas, while he was piloting a training aircraft for the Brayton Flying Service School.
