Zygmund Plomienski was born in Russia on January 1, 1893. In June 1911, he arrived in the United States and settled in Schenectady, where he was employed by the American Locomotive Company.
On September 21, 1917, Zygmund enlisted in the United States Army. He was a private serving with Company E, 327th Infantry Regiment. On October 15, 1918, Zygmund was killed in battle during the Meuse-Argonne Offensive. He is buried in the Meuse Argonne American Cemetery in France.
